The Empire of Arcadia was famous for its connection with its crystal. It was the mightiest Empire on Terra, dwarfing even Insomnia. Settled in the plains of a great valley across the Cactuar Desert, Arcadia had been invaded many times by smaller nations - and even once by Midgar. However, the immense magical prowess of Aracadia's Mage's Guild easily repelled and destroyed the incoming forces every, single time. This is perhaps because Arcadia was the first nation ever to receive a crystal - around three thousand years ago. However, ten years ago....
Arcadia went up in flames. Nobody knows why. The Mage's Guild supposedly seen this coming, and used the rest of their Mana to send all of the citizens to the outskirts of Insomnia, just in time for the city to go up in a blaze. Arcadia's destruction is a mystery, especially considering their military might. But....
One thing is for certain. It has changed history forever, along with the lives of countless civilians.
